Preparing for Big School at Our Early Learning Centre

As Term 4 begins, many families start thinking about starting school next year. And one question often comes up: Is my child ready?

School readiness isn’t just about learning to read or write. It’s also about the everyday things that help children feel confident and independent. Zipping up a jacket, waiting for a turn, asking a friend to play, or telling an educator when something feels hard.

At our early learning centres in North Sydney and Mascot, these skills develop through everyday routines and play. Children practise packing their bags, helping to tidy up, working through challenges and being part of a group. Each experience gives them a chance to build confidence at their own pace.

If you’re exploring childcare and wondering how an early learning centre can help prepare your child for school, we’d love to welcome you to Toybox.

Because getting ready for school is about more than knowing your ABCs. It’s about feeling ready to give things a go.
