Sun Safe Childcare This Spring in North Sydney and Mascot

Spring in Sydney has a way of sneaking up on you. One week it’s jumpers, the next it’s sunny enough to have lunch outside.

But warmer weather doesn’t always mean higher UV, and cooler days don’t mean the sun is harmless. That’s why checking the UV index matters more than going by how warm it feels.

At our early learning centres in North Sydney and Mascot, sun safety is part of the everyday routine. Children wear hats outside, sunscreen is applied as needed, and educators make use of shaded areas. Our educators model these habits too, helping children learn by seeing them in practice.

If you’re packing your child’s bag, a comfortable hat that fits well and is easy for them to put on is a great start.

Outdoor play is an important part of early learning. With sun safe habits in place, children can keep enjoying the fresh air, exploring and playing throughout spring and summer.
