Our Curriculum

Development of literacy and numeracy skills remain vital in the years where children prepare for school, as well as their social and emotional development. Our curriculum is based upon the Early Years Learning Framework, as outlined under the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood. The Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning.

The belief is that play is the best vehicle for young children’s learning, and children’s interests are the basis for development of the curriculum in our Centre. The weekly program is a framework, from which detailed activities are planned to provide activities and opportunities for children to explore and learn in a way that is most engaging to them. By providing a structure, but allowing the learning to flow based upon what the children demonstrate interest in, better engagement and thus learning outcomes, are achieved.
