Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Toybox provides an exceptional quality of care, where children are given the opportunity to learn and develop to their full potential in a fun and supportive environment.

We are big enough to deliver a quality environment with a great team, but small enough
to ensure each child is cared for as an individual.

Each child will develop their unique skills and talents through play and learning
at our centre.

We support the National Quality Framework for delivery of Excellent Quality Early Learning Services – we know these as The Toybox Standards of Service – which are:

1: Programming and Evaluation

Our team works together to develop and deliver a program that meets individual and group interests, talents and abilities. The program is stimulating and involving, and allows for a variety of opportunities for children to pursue their current interests and develop new ones.

2: Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing

Our staff are responsive to each child’s daily nutritional needs and eating patterns, food preferences and cultural, religious or special dietary requirements. As well as regular hygiene training, staff are trained in proper methods of menu planning, food handling and hygiene.

3: Protective Care and Safety

Clearly, the safety of each child is very important. Toybox is fully licensed by the NSW Department of Education and Communities and registered with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). Toybox has clear policies and procedures relating to child protection and child safety. Indoor areas are secure, with only a single entry to reception. Toybox has the latest technology high security protection, incl. CCTV and Biometrics access systems (fingerprint entry). Purpose-built outdoor areas provide an environment that is stimulating, challenging and secure.

4:  Staff Relationships with Children and Peers

Our team treats children with respect and sensitivity, aiming for the promotion of each child’s social and emotional wellbeing, freeing them to develop other skills and abilities.

5:  Children’s Experiences and Learning

We aim to encourage children’s curiosity and help them learn through discovery. Play is an important element of early childhood programs and our Toybox equipment, materials, trained team members and our light-filled rooms and outdoor play spaces enable children to explore the physical world.

6:  Partnership with Families

At Toybox, we aim to work together with families to ensure a trusting and supported environment for the child. We aim to engage with parents in a variety of ways to ensure regular communication of what your child is learning and how to integrate the experiences of your child between the home and Toybox.

7:  Managing to Support Quality

We promote effective and ethical policies and procedures, and are constantly looking to ‘best practice’ in early learning services to ensure we continue to deliver the quality service your child and family requires.  We are always keen to hear ideas from the team members and families on Toybox’s policies to encourage improvement and optimise the satisfaction of children, families and team members.
